Site Materials Coordinator.

Materials coordinators are responsible for a broad range of duties related to inventory management and the oversight of materials and equipment. They will be responsible for inspecting and recording inbound shipments of materials and equipment, documenting overages, shortages, and damage. They may also manage the processing of maintenance requests and work orders. A working knowledge of an electronic materials management system (specifically SMAT) to assist with efficient and accurate oversight of material tracking and coordination is desired. Ensures material inventory levels are sufficient to meet construction schedules. These roles require meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency using common office software programs. Familiarity with an SMAT is a plus.

Position requirements and duties of the Site Materials Coordinator

  • Responsible for handling routine shipping and receiving tasks
  • Allocate received materials and equipment to the correct Bill of Materials (BOM) set up in SMAT
  • Interface with Engineering as required to troubleshoot bill of material inaccuracies
  • Trace Overage, Shortage or Damaged (OS&D) materials
  • Willingness to assist other team member in material handling functions
    1. First for soft allocation for planning purposes
    2. Second for hard allocation for IWP pick tickets
  • Ability to navigate through SMAT to analyze material availability and expected material receipt date
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and participate in process improvements and quality improvement programs
  • Maintain all sensitive data information and stay in line with constructions CWP schedule
  • Maintain all information for status of materials on weekly basis
  • Collaborate with construction team to schedule all deliveries, manage all delays, and ensure compliance to all material requests

Skills, requirements and duties of the Site Materials Coordinator

  • Minimum of 1-2 of material coordination experience
  • Good working knowledge of SMAT material management systems
  • Ability to travel and remain at project location for extended periods
  • Strong math, organizational and planning skills
  • Outstanding communication and people skills
  • Trustworthy and dependable
  • High School Diploma (Associates Preferred)
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Veterans’ preference given
  • Driver’s license and POV required

Compensation and Benefit Package

  • Salary commensurate with experience
  • Per Diem
  • Discretionary Project Bonus

  • Typical work week (Monday-Friday)
