Logistics Specialist – Solar.

Working closely with the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Specialist are an integral part of the project team. The Logistics Specialist is responsible for executing the daily plan including material handling, receiving, receipting, quantitative and qualitative quality checks of material as well as performance of the administrative functions required to support efficient laydown yard activities. The Logistics Specialist also helps establish and maintain internal procedures and for ensuring that laydown yard operations are performed in a safe and efficient manner.

Position requirements and duties of the Logistics Specialist

  • Receive palletized and non-palletized parcel packaged material at multiple receiving locations
  • Move received material to the appropriate material storage facility
  • Prove delivery of material by reconciling actual material received and material shipment packing lists with material purchase orders
  • Communicate material receipt specifics to Material Management (MM) lead to include but not be limited to: Proof of delivery documentation, material location, material purchase order shortages (partial delivery/backorder), other necessary material receipt information as necessary
  • Ensure material within its respective storage facility is stored in an orderly manner that will allow material pulls for future shipments to be done in an efficient and timely manner, work with material location mapping and storage bin tagging
  • Ensure material is stored under controlled access
  • Track internal movement of material during time material is stored; communicate all material movement to MM lead
  • Perform periodic inventory counts, reconciling actual material counts against material inventory report while also ensuring material locations are as represented on material inventory report; note all variances and communicate all variances to MM lead
  • Locate and pull specific material for shipment/movement to assembly using material shipping requests (if movement is external to Company); communicate all documentation for material shipment preparation to MM lead
  • Palletize or prepare for parcel packaging, material to ship/move; communicate to MM lead when material is palletized/packaged and ready for pickup
  • Attached BOLs and/or packing lists to pallets and/or parcel packages
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks, ships, and loading docks
  • Other material related handling as necessary
  • Clearly understand all processes and SOPs necessary to achieve functional and effective performance of duties

Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements of the Material and Logistics Manager

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Previous stock or inventory experience a plus
  • Previous experience operating a forklift or pallet jack
  • Prior military experience a plus
  • OSHA certification a plus

Compensation and Benefit Package

  • $23.25-25.05 per hour (OT 1.5 after 50 hours)
  • Clothing PPE Allowance
  • Project Completion Bonus

Schedule

  • Typical work week consist of five ten-hour days (Monday-Friday)
