Senior Project Manager.
Senior Project Managers are responsible for managing the planning, estimating, permitting, schedules, budgets, risk analysis, material procurement, agreements for land, and engineering services. The Senior Project Manager also prepares projects for bid process and assists with contractor selection, monitors field construction, and in-service facilitation and project close-out, of both distribution and transmission electric projects. Works with Construction Management to ensure standards are followed to provide safe and reliable service to customers in an efficient, economical manner. Collaborates and strategizes with peers within employers companies and in industry to ensure cost effective project management that heightens the customer experience. Communicates both written and verbally with peers and leadership to provide updates and concerns.
Position requirements and duties of the Senior Project Manager
- Establishes effective scope, schedule, and cost baselines and drives change management to measure progress against plans and identifies when corrective actions are needed
- Works with Construction Management to provide safe, efficient, quality construction that complies with policies, practices, procedures and standards
- Collaboration between project managers, construction management, engineers, environmental, supply chain, and other project stakeholders, holding them accountable
- Completes construction projects that exceeds customer expectations and meets all established project requirements
- Promotes relationships with external municipalities and local authorities
- Understanding and management of project contracts
- Ensures timely and accurate schedule updates and invoicing
- Effective team relationships throughout field and office
- Monitors and communicates progress of projects related to baselined schedule/milestones, forecasted/approved spends, project status updates, , material management, and land services requirements
- Constant monitoring and evaluation of project risks
Skills, requirements and duties of the Senior Project Manager
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or other related field of study
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience managing electric construction related projects including substation and overhead construction projects
- Valid Driver’s License
- Proficiency with personal computers, construction scheduling software, Microsoft Excel, Power Point Presentations, and other computer software related to construction project management
- Prefer Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Prefer knowledge of electric system design and operations including construction and contract management
- Prefer Veteran Status
