Logistics Manager – Solar.

Working closely with the client operations and leadership, the Logistics Manager is an integral part of the solar project team. The role of the Logistics Manager is to assist in developing and executing the overall material plan, work processes, and systems to administer all laydown yard activities and operations. The Logistics Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining safe operations and refining the standard operating procedures for receiving, inspecting, storing, and issuing materials need for construction. The incumbent shall lead daily activities and provide on-site leadership and ensure daily plans are carried out in an efficient and safe manner.

Position requirements and duties of the Logistics Manager

  • Develop and implement innovative methods to optimize inventory control procedures
  • Ensure product stock is adequate to meet construction schedule
  • Record daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory
  • Use software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory
  • Analyze data to anticipate future needs
  • Communicate proactively with project team to highlight material issues etc
  • Receive material into material laydown yard inventory
  • QA-QC material in accordance with design specifications
  • Expedite material as required
  • Track material from issuance of purchase order to the job site
  • Kit material for construction crews
  • Inventory and reallocate excess inventory

Skills, requirements and duties of the Logistics Manager

  • Ability to travel and remain at project location for extended periods
  • Excellent working knowledge of data analysis and ability to use excel and MS Office tools
  • Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Highly reliable and trustworthy
  • High School Diploma Required (AS/BS Degree Preferred)
  • Veteran Preference

Compensation and Benefit Package

Schedule

  • Typical work week consist of five ten-hour days (Monday-Friday)
